I built a roof-top patio using pierdex and travertine stone. The Pierdex is easy to install and has a huge advantage over other pedestal-based systems in that it allows for any tile pattern you can imagine - you are not limited to a 16x16 grid. The large interlocking panels make it easy to create a flat surface, and the drainage space underneath can be also used to hide irrigation and wiring. The tiles can be cut to any shape which makes it easy to fit around a complex perimeter - mine was not a simple rectangular space. Very happy with the result! MORE PICTURES FULL STORY |

My wife and I who are in our mid to late 60's put a new surface of porcelain tile on our 22 year old, 420 sq.ft.deck which sets about four feet off the ground. Neither of us are carpenters by trade. My wife is an artist and I was college counselor and administrator. By hobby I am "left handed" woodworker. DexSystems "Gratedex" was exceptionally easy to install: cut, adhere to the 2x10 joists, and to attach the porcelain tile. The low back pain disappreared with Alleve or a martini. Working at "retired" speed we finished the entire project (removing the existing surface and rails and installing the new surface, railing posts and lights) in 8 weeks. The cost of the system is significant but all the neighbors have been extremely complimentary about the appearance. In addition to "good looks" the deck surface is maintenance free. And our iron railing and steps(to be installed by the end of June) and western cedar 6x6 posts are very low maintenace. All in all it's expensive but worth the investment. MORE PICTURES FULL STORY |

Outdoor Floor System has been one of the best decisions we made when building the addition on to our home. Minnesota is a harsh place to live and this product has performed beyond expectation. Superior aesthetics, low to no maintenance and durability that cannot be matched! The cost is a non issue as well given that we would be in maintenance mode already if we hade chosen to use wood as our flooring. Most of all, it offers a seamless transition from the inside of our home to the outdoor living space we have added on. A simple choice once you see the finished product. MORE PICTURES |

Our slate tile deck was built using DexSystems' fiberglass grate, fasteners and adhesive. The result is a wonderful finished product. The installation was straightforward and did not require any special expertise. We recommend this system to anyone that is considering a similar application. |
